About this weblog
Here we'll report daily on the latest tech and business developments in New York City. Impossible we concede: comprehensive coverage of the city's every story. What we hope you'll find: tips, tidbits and perspectives you won't find elsewhere. As well as unique insights, original interviews and more that should be of interest to New York's vibrant community of technologists and those who track, invest in and report on them.
According to Yahoo News, German department store chain KarstadtQuelle has started giving away free flights to New York with the purchase of a special edition winter coat (the $240 "puffer jacket"). The department store claims to have sold 4,000 puffer jackets already, with plans to sell a total of 20,000 jackets by the end of the promotion. Now other German stores are getting into the act with a number of "copycat offers." Does that mean that the streets of New York will soon be overtaken by German tourists in expensive puffer jackets?
